Today’s an exciting day!
I officially started my new year on January 5th, and. . . less than two weeks later, I’ve successfully completed my first project for the year.
Imagined Overdue, is the second short story in a series of seven following the seven Dyer sisters as they find love with various paranormal partners. The first of the Sultry Solstices short story series was called Presumed Dead and was originally in an anthology before I got the rights back and added two chapters from the male love interest’s POV as well as an epilogue that introduced the story we’d find in the second story.
While Presumed Dead deals with what’s presumed to be a ghost but isn’t quite, Imagined Overdue follows a witch as she reunites with an old friend from high school, only to discover he’s a vampire, and he’s being haunted by an actual ghost.
But now, after only seven days of writing, I’ve completed the third draft of the story, and the final full draft before I send it to beta readers.
What’s next?
Two things. The first is I’m giving it the rest of the week to rest before I start editing it at the top of the week. The second is that I’ve started work on the third story in the series, Protected Alone, which follows the third Dyer sister as she takes on a job in France and finds herself breaking the curse on a gargoyle*.* I’m really looking forward to it.
Presumed Dead is set to release 23 June 2026, with Imagined Overdue only two weeks after that. There’ll be a post here as soon as they’re live.
